Mud Season

I've been trying to keep busy doing indoor things. Things that I will be so glad I did come spring and summer. When spring comes I want to be outside digging in the garden with the sun beating down on my back. Can't wait.
The one thing I hate about the end of winter is the mud season. It's a never ending battle of keeping the dirt outside off my floors. But I know that spring will soon be here.

I'm considering starting a new hooked rug but I don't want the same thing to happen again like last year. I got behind and once spring came the rug got put away until this past December. I vowed never to do that again.

I am starting with the house cleaning so I can soon garden guilt-free. I started with a cold the other day. I was just thinking how I went all winter without being sick, I spoke to soon.

I' ve also been busy setting up my Etsy account. I just keep plugging away with all the interuptions in life.. Patience ,, I need to learn more patience!

Winter~

What a day! Started out snowshoeing. It was beautiful morning with a fresh inch of snow. Then I came into make Beef Barley soup and White Texas Sheet cake flavored with almond. I finally got the chance to sit down late this afternoon and try to figure out what I started last year on 5 2-pointed needles. A first project, baby hat. I couldnt remember where I left off but I think it had a lot to do with the day and my state of mind. A stormy winter day, not having to go anywhere, and my kids home safe keeping themselves occupied. I was relaxed enough to concentrate on completing it. It was fun and Im excited to start another project on 2 pointed needles. I really feel like I accomplished something!

A New Year

Lots of plans for the new year.  I'm not superstitious but I do believe in fresh starts and goals. My Mother and I are gift wrapping antiques together with her new line of Farmhouse soaps and candles. An old milk glass plate topped with a vintage crocheted doily, and a bottle of hand soap/hand cream and a beautiful fragrant soy candle. Or a beautiful tea cup with your favorite teas and cookies. With my love for primitives, I would love an old yellow ware or wooden bowl stuffed with a piece of brown or linen homespun, a candle and an old beater. Better yet a red ware pot planted with an herb and tied with a pair of new leather garden gloves and a new book. Pick your antique and we'll do the rest. The unique gift...just because.

I also want to improve my knitting skills, hook rugs, crochet and do a few cross stitch samplers. In between running a rental business and taking care of my husband and two teenagers landscaping around the house, studying up on honey bees, putting up stone around my porch piers. Planning a high school graduation is also in the works, applying to college for my son,.. etc, and the list goes on. Really praying my health, energy and motivation all cooperate!
